If you’re feeling guilty for consuming porn then… don’t. It’s perfectly fine. People do it all the time and survive.
1. Porn will not cause you any harm
How many times have you heard about people being killed or injured by porn? Now think about people you know who have battled against drug abuse and alcoholism.
Excessive consumption of pornography may cause irritation of the genital area. If you are a male you may get hit in the eye by your ejaculation. That’s about it, really.
No need to wear a safety helmet or to get vaccinated before checking out those xxx sites.
2. Porn will not ruin your family
Want to read tragic stories about porn destroying relationships and people’s lives? Check out sites like XXXChurch.com and read stories on their forums. You will read about people that are spending too much time looking at porn and neglecting their families, their work and their selves. But the same applies to couples who play online games 24/7 and neglect their children. Why don’t these organisations target gamers?
As they say… you should do everything in moderation.
Porn is a big issue when you’re threatened with eternal damnation. Take the two following scenarios, for example. Which do you think causes more harm?
- You get caught looking at porn by your partner who cracks a few jokes and then comments on how sexy the pics look. You share a moment of tender horniness and have wonderful sex thereafter.
- You get caught looking at porn by your partner who is deeply religious and believes that you are possessed by the devil. You partner goes crazy and starts hailing Marys left right and centre before contacting people at your local church to sign you up at Porn Addicts Not-So-Anonymous, where you are forced to hug other people. Part of the therapy is that you can’t access the net anymore not have sex. Your kids think you’re a pervert and tell their friends who tell their parents. One of which is your boss you fires you.
3. Porn will not cost you a cent
If you can’t afford to pay for porn then… don’t.
You can find any porn you want online on the web, using P2P software and exchanging porn with like minded people.
Booze, drugs, cigarettes and evangelists all cost money.
4. Porn will not corrupt your mind
This is subjective, of course. If you think porn is evil then, sure, porn will corrupt your mind.
One argument against this idea, however, is one based on statistics. If the consumption of porn is so widespread then half the population would have corrupted minds, including leaders of our communities and governments. Not to mentioned our immediate family. They live amongst us like aliens!
Can a society as complex and sophisticated as the American one, for example, be as successful even if so many people are ‘corrupted?
5. Porn will not ruin your sex life
If your partner doesn’t appreciate porn then don’t share it with him/her. You’re entitled to secrets and this one’s as good as any other. Don’t tell him/her that you cross dress either.
If the opposite is true then you can have a lot of fun. It can inspire and entertain. In most cases it will make you laugh. But it will also turn you and your partner on and possibly lead to sex, an activity that, without a shadow of a doubt, most adults on this planet enjoy.
