Most dismiss sex in Second Life as stupid and those who enjoy it are considered losers who can’t get laid. The truth is very much the opposite. Here is why.

1. Second Life is a fantasy world as much fun as the one in your head

Whilst there is a small minority of people that do not aspire to be sexier, do not want to rub shoulders (and more) with hot celebs and never masturbate thinking of very sexy situations… the vast majority do. Typically, in these situations:

• Under the shower
• Pretending to be having a number 2 in the toilet
• Looking at porn sites online

During such sessions the person will be thinking of fantasy scenarios featuring sexual partner/s and sexual acts that they don’t normally experience.

Thoughts are good, certainly, but a real-time 3D computer representation of them where one can interact with the surroundings are much better.

In Second Life you can have any situation you want. You can recreate exactly what you want or find any number of existing scenarios. You don’t have to close you eyes and think of Angeline Jolie but find an avatar that looks like her. Or be her.

2. Social masturbation (wanking 2.0)

Social masturbation lies somewhere between masturbation, a solo activity, and sex, which involves the presence of two or more people. Thus, social masturbation can be thought of a solo activity that can be enjoyed collectively.

In Second Life social masturbation occurs frequently. There are many locations specifically designed for free, open sex (for example the Free Sex Empire). However, this gameplay is just an interface to the ‘real life’ activity of masturbation – as they control their avatar with one hand they masturbate with the other. Put the same people in a real room and they will refuse to masturbate or have sex with each other. Offer them Second Life in private and they will happily masturbate for hours on end.

3. Sex in Second Life is a creative affair

In Second Life you can use blocks to build pretty much anything and scripts to add any kind of behaviours to what is created. Predictably this has lead to the availability of very large and functional penises.

But thanks to some very creative minds the most obscure and bizarre sexual scenarios can be lived out. For example, would you want to be caught in a cob-web to be ‘eaten’ by a sex blonde lady?

Think of it as a combination of the first two points of this article where fantasies of thousands of people are available to the collective, including yours.

Sex in Second Life can be fun but also an inspiration for sex in real life.
