Newsletters are sent each time a new issue is published, so there is no need to dedicate part of your memory to remembering to check the site.
A few good reasons why you should:
- Reminds you not to take porn too seriously
- It's plain text. We think HTML emails are evil. Ours is nice and simple.
- Subject lines of our emails will not get you in trouble if your partner happens to glance over your shoulder (better check whether he/she's doing that now).
- Your partner would probably approve - try asking
- We will alert you of any new feature we launch
It's a great marketing tool for us.
About your privacy
Which is one of the few things we take seriously here. Rest assured that your details will not be sold, leased or in any way passed on to any third parties.
We are only going to use collected information for sending you newsletters (occasionally) and any important communications about the site (eg. announcing a new feature). Two good reasons why: 1) We hate spam as much as you do, and 2) We can't afford to be sued.
One last important detail. The script used to register for email alerts requires and checks for valid email addresses. This is called 'double opt-in' here in Europe and is considered best practice.
